wept.
Genesis 50:19-21
19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it
is this day, to save much people alive.
21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and
spake kindly unto them.
Exodus 23:4-5
4 If thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to
him again.
5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help
him, thou shalt surely help with him.
1 Samuel 24:10-12
10 Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered thee to day into mine hand
in the cave: and some bade me kill thee: but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth
mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD’S anointed.
11 Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the
skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor
transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take
it.
12 The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be
upon thee.
1 Samuel 26:23
23 The LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness: for the LORD delivered thee
into my hand to day, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S
anointed.
2 Samuel 1:14-17
14 And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the
LORD’S anointed?
15 And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him
that he died.
16 And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee,
saying, I have slain the LORD’S anointed.
17 And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:
Proverbs 19:11
11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a
transgression.
Proverbs 24:17
17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

work.
Proverbs 25:21-22

drink:
22 For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.
Matthew 5:39-46
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite
thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke
also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on
the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the
same?
Matthew 6:12
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also
forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your
trespasses.
Matthew 18:21-35
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive
him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until
seventy times seven.
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his
servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand
talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and
children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I
will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the
debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred
pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me,
and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their
lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave
thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on
thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due
unto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every
one his brother their trespasses.
Mark 11:25-26
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that
your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your
trespasses.
Luke 6:27-37
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which
hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away
thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not
again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love
them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the
same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to
sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall
be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to
the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and
ye shall be forgiven:

us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
Luke 17:3-4
3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him;
and if he repent, forgive him.
4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to
thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
Luke 23:34
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they
do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Romans 12:14-21
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low
estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou
shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
1 Corinthians 4:12-13
12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer
it:
13 Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all
things unto this day.

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for
Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
1 Peter 3:9
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye
are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
